Here is a list of Canada Day family events in the Niagara Region.


Canada Day Celebrations at the Museum
Location: 6 Murray St. at Main St. W.
Times: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Details: This family event includes children’s activities, barbeque, face painting, bouncy castles and musical entertainment.  At noon Canada Day cupcakes will be served.   Free admission to the Museum’s exhibitions.


Canada Day Festival
Lcoation: Charles Daley Park, 1969 North Service Rd. in Jordan
Times: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Details: Opening ceremonies at 3 p.m., birthday cake, children’s bouncers, climbing wall, face painting, balloon animals, fire trucks display, Mad Science show. Fireworks at 10 p.m.


Community Celebration
Location: Harold Black Park, Haist St.
Times: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Opening ceremonies start at 2 p.m.
Details: Kids’ activities, parade at 1pm, soccer challenge, BMX Stunt Team, fireworks at 10:15pm.

Canada Day Parade
Location: A.K. Wigg School on Haist St. and heads south to Harold Black Park.
Times: Starts 1 p.m.


Canada Day Community Celebration
Location: Battle of Beaverdams Park (Clairmont and Ormond Sts)
Times: 1 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Details: A citizenship ceremony starts the day at 1 p.m., Canada Day cupcakes served at 2 p.m., children’s activities and games, talent show starts 2:15 p.m., Kids’ Zone starts 2 p.m., mini town criers demonstration at 2:45 p.m., best decorated bike contest at 3 p.m., Calvin the Magician at 3:30 p.m. Fireworks at 10:15 p.m.

St. Catharines

Canada Day Celebrations
Location: Rennie Park, 60 Lakeport Rd.
Times: Noon to 4 p.m., Opening ceremonies begin at noon.
Details: Fun family activities, live music and other free festivities.

Canada Day at St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre
Location: 1932 Welland Canals Pkwy.
Times: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Details: Games and activities for the whole family. Games, crafts and activities continue until 4pm

Port Dalhousie Canada Day Celebrations
Location: Lakeside Park
Times: The Lion’s Club Carnival continues 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Details: Fireworks at 10 p.m.


Niagara Falls

Canada Day Parade
Location: Procession runs along Victoria St. to Queen St., ending at St. Clair Ave.
Times: 11 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.

Downtown community celebrations
Location: Various venues, Queen St.
Times: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Details: Opening ceremonies start at 12:30 p.m., cake served at noon, free raffle at city hall, free caricatures, face painting.

Fireworks: Welland Bridge 13
9:50pm approx. Get the photo of the night as Welland Bridge 13 will lit up like the Canadian Flag with the FIREWORKS going right over it.


Celebrate Canada Day in Niagara
Location: Fort George
Times: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., free admission
Details: Join us for a BBQ dinner inside Fort George, starting at 5:00 p.m. We’ll be serving up hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and pop! Proceeds from the BBQ go to support the Friends of Fort George.
The evening program begins at 6:30 p.m. inside Fort George. Admission is free!
Fireworks at 10 p.m.

Celebrations in Simcoe Park
Canada Day celebrations start early, with a pancake breakfast in Simcoe Park in downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake. From 8:00 to 11:00 a.m., the Rotary Club of Niagara-on-the-Lake will serve hot pancakes, sausages, juice and coffee in the park. Picnic tables are available throughout the park for seating.

Canada Day Parade
The procession starts at 2:45 p.m. along Queen St, fIt ends at Simcoe Park, where the cake will be sliced and served.

Fort Erie

Canada Day Fireworks
Location: Beatrice St. and Lakeshore Rd.
Times:  Fireworks start at dusk.

Celebrate Canada Day with a firework display over Lake Erie. Spectators are invited to bring a blanket or comfy chairs and find their favourite spot along Lakeshore Road between Beatrice Street and Dominion Road to watch.

Port Colborne

Optimists Day in the Park
Location: H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park
Times: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Details: Cake to be served at 2 p.m. Activities include: Puppet show, Magic show, Highland Dancers.
