Summer Reading Clubs

Do you want your child to keep up with their reading over the summer and have fun while doing it? The TD Summer Reading Club is a free reading club offered throughout Canadian libraries to kids of all ages and abilities.

Grimsby Public Library

TD Summer Reading Club (Ages 6-12)
JULY 3 – AUGUST 26

Drop in to Win a Prize!
Participants share a maximum of 2 titles per visit, get a small prize
for each book, and enter tickets in our weekly raffle.While participating, kids can:

♥ Read books at their own level.

♥ Report on up to 5 non-fiction books

♥ Report on a maximum of 2 graphic novels

♥ Report on up to 3 bonus books (which can be juvenile or YP books
that are more than 150 pages, that is not a graphic novel).
Each counts as 2 regular titles.
It’s takes just a few minutes per visit for kids to share a maximum of 2 titles, get a small prize for each book, and enter a ticket in our weekly raffle. Kids are happy there’s a fun, drop-in activity where they’ll see friends, share great books, and discover cool databases!

Preschool Summer Reading Club (Ages 2-6)
JULY 3 – AUGUST 26
Drop-in to win a prize!
Pick up an activity booklet at the GPL, or print one off the website. It’s takes just a few minutes per visit for kids to share a maximum of 2 titles, get a small prize for each book, and enter a ticket in our weekly raffle. Kids are happy there’s a fun, drop-in activity where they’ll see friends, share great books, and win great prizes!
DROP-IN HOURS:
MONDAY – SATURDAY: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
TUESDAY & THURSDAY NIGHTS: 6:00 – 7:30 PM
Kids listen to stories at home & complete an activity page in the Preschool Summer Reading Booklet for each story they hear. Kids get a small prize and a raffle ballot for every page shared with Library staff. 
Finish 10 activity pages and get a certificate & a Dairy Queen coupon. Yum!

Each page of the booklet emphasizes a different concept, such as: letters, shapes, or patterns. Pages can be completed and shown to staff in any order. Since we want you to visit often during the summer, kids can present a maximum of 2 pages per visit.

 


Lincoln Public Library

TD Summer Reading Club (Ages 2-12)
Read Across Canada! For Canada’s 150th birthday, the TD Summer Reading Club (TD SRC) invites kids to celebrate what makes books, libraries and Canada great, by encouraging them to open up to new ideas, new characters, new landscapes, and to one another. The TD SRC is free for children ages 2 to 12. The Club is for children of all abilities. Pre-readers and children with print disabilities receive their own version of the notebook. This summer earn province BragTags®  and beads for every book you read, to make your own Canada 150 souvenir! Read and report on ten books by August 14 and you will also receive an invitation to the final party! New – read a book with over 150 pages and it counts as two books! Registration and book reporting start on Monday July 3. You can report on your first two books when you register!
Canada Day Festival – Saturday July 1, Charles Daley Park LPL will be on hand to help celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday! Register early for the TD SRC and make a Canadian-themed craft. Go on a StoryWalk through the park, featuring the book Grumpy Bird.
TD SRC Final Party featuring comedic juggler Greg Tarlin! Every child who reads and reports on ten books at either LPL branch by August 14 earns an invitation to come to our TD SRC Final Party on Wednesday August 16!
Summer Reading Clubs for those ages 13 and up (no upper age limit!)
Earn province BragTags® to create a Canada 150 souvenir!
How the Clubs work:
1. Beginning Monday July 3, register at either LPL branch and receive a Canada 150 Log Book.
2. Keep track of the number of hours you read. Every two hours earns one province BragTag®.
3. Bring your log book to the branch where you registered to get your tag(s). 4. Once you have completed a book, fill out a ballot to win an additional prize in our end-of-summer draw.
Entries close on Monday August 14.
All Teen Summer Reading Club participants are invited to an Amazing Race Party! Tuesday August 15, 1 pm Fleming Branch

Pelham Public Library

Maple Acre TD Summer Reading Club Kick-Off

Join us Saturday and sign up for the Summer Reading Club – last year we had over 300 members, let’s try and beat it. For early registration on this day you will be entered into a draw for 2 free passes to Bissell’s Hideaway.

Get a sticker on our Wall of Fame for every book read (age appropriate of course). Come in and report on the books you’ve read starting July 6th and receive your first reading incentive and ballot.

It’s BIG – and it’s coming to a library branch near you! Kids of all ages: get ready for great books, lively programs, cool prizes, and loads of fun this July and August!

Celebrate CANADA this summer and join the free TD Summer Reading Club.

Register at the Welland Public Library starting Monday, June 26. Joining the club means getting a chance to win fun prizes every week throughout the summer!

Registration starts on June 24 at the library’s grand opening celebration. It’s free to sign up and participate in all summer long!
Step 2: Read
Get ready to read, read, read! Read all the books, magazines, audiobooks, and e-books you want and keep track of all your titles!
Step 3: Report
Share what you read to earn stickers and AMAZING prizes! You can drop in to tell us about your books from July 4 to August 12

At the end of the summer, we want to celebrate all your great reading!

Pick up your Free Registration Kit including your Reading Log at any library location starting Friday, June 30th.

Across Canada, in this year of Canada’s 150th birthday, libraries and kids will be celebrating what makes books, libraries and Canada great by opening up new ideas, new characters and new landscapes to one another.

The TD Summer Reading Club is easy and fun – Read Books and Earn Beads! Build a personalized necklace or keychain with beads earned for each book you read. Complete a challenge and earn a special Canada 150 Brag Tag.
