Want to paint like Pablo Picasso, create like Piet Mondrian, design like Andy Warhol and experiment like Jackson Pollock? Well then, this is the class for you!

We will focus on the Principles of Art and the Elements of Design to create various masterpieces using acrylic and mixed media applications. Students will be encouraged to exercise the fundamentals of art, learn proper colour principles, learn about the colour wheel and colour mixing.

This is a five-day workshop from 9am-4pm.  Students are expected to bring lunch (peanut free). We will eat at Beaverdams Park.

Supplies required: An old shirt for painting in. Wear clothing that is okay to get dirty. Bring a hat in case it is sunny and a water bottle to keep hydrated.

PRINCIPLES OF ART: Balance, emphasis, movement, proportion, rhythm, unity, and variety; the means an artist uses to organize elements within a work of art by the careful placement of repeated elements in the work  to cause a visual tempo or beat.

ELEMENTS OF DESIGN: Point, line, shape, form, space, color, and texture.
