Fun Fridays

Build a Home Depot Truck

August 12, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Home Depot St. Catharines, 20 YMCA Drive, St. Catharines

Join our hands-on workshop and you and your child can build a Home Depot truck. Once the project is complete, your child can personalize their Home Depot Truck with paint and stickers. All kids get to keep their project and receive a FREE certificate of achievement and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be between the ages of 5-12 and must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit.

Moana’s Adventures and Activities

August 12, 10:00 am – 11:30 am

105 Carleton St., St. Catharines

Despite the ocean’s call Moana has always looked forward to spending time with her friends at Glitter and Grit.  Come hear tales of her adventure, have a tasty tiki snack and more!  Cost is $16 so register with us to save your spot.


Grantham Lions Food Festival

August 12, 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Grantham Lions Club, 732 Niagara St., St. Catharines

The Grantham Lions Club will host the 2nd annual Food Festival. Live music, 10 food trucks, Silversmith Brewery, Palatine Hills Winery and Ironwood Hard Cider will,all be on site. Free!!! All welcome.


Pop up vendor market

August 12, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Rennie Park, 60 Lakeport Rd, St. Catharines

August is half way done which means summer is slowly coming to an end. Let’s make it down to Port Dalhousie enjoy what this beautiful area has to offer, watch the end of the Henley Regatta and check out some awesome artisans and local businesses.

Craft at Michaels

August 12, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Michaels Craft Store, 275 4th Ave, St. Catharines


Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick project and take home a finished masterpiece. Sign up in store or just drop in.
Only $2 per child reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. Sessions starting every half hour from 10am – 11:30 am. See a store associate to join the fun! Parents must remain on premises during the event.


Shopping to Cure Multiple Sclerosis

August 13, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Grantham Optimist Club, 188 Linwell Rd, St. Catharines

2nd Annual Vendor and craft show in fight of Multiple Sclerosis. Last year we were able to raise $1200.00 which went towards our Zoo Crew team in support of Multiple Sclerosis.

We will have vendors, a raffle table, food, face painting, and 50/50. We will also host a bottle drive the day of the event. All proceeds from the raffle draw, vendor spots (minus the hall fee), 50% of the 50/50 money will all go to Multiple Sclerosis. We will also have some games in order to raise some extra funds.

Please remember that there are bins for Newark Neighbours and Community Care at LOCOL (just outside the door): Bring any donations of food, clothing or toiletries you’d like to offer whenever you visit us.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Peach Festival

Saturday, August 12, 10am-7pm

Queen St. (from Victoria St to King St), Niagara-on-the-Lake

Enjoy live music from 5 bands including The Toronto All Star Band( will start at 1:30), David Hoy, St.Catharines Pipe Band and The Local Fife and Drum will start the mornjng off at 10 am. Also, attending this year The Ben Show, a fantastic street performer for all ages.

There will be a sidewalk sale of the merchants from the Queen St area as well as lots of tasty “Peachy” delights from local bakeries and restaurants and of course local growers selling their delicious fresh peaches.

On Sunday, the festival continues at St. Vincent de Paul Church.

Niagara Egg Fest

Sunday, August 13, 11am-3pm

The Niagara EggFest is an annual family event dedicated to the Big Green Egg (BGE) BBQ and smoker, “Eggheads” (Egg owners), family and friends. It doesn’t matter if you own a BGE, want to taste great food, or learn about owning the World’s Best Smoker and Grill…the Eggfest is for you.


Your registration includes:

  • All day BBQ on the Big Green Egg!
  • Full size Porchetta on Italian fresh baked buns!
  • Wine tours and tastings!
