Candlelight Stroll – Niagara on the Lake
December 6, 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
A guided stroll winding through the historical town, accompanied by local choirs and seasonal entertainment.
6:30 pm – Ceremony outside the Old Courthouse building. Includes singing carols & speeches introducing the child who has been chosen to receive proceeds from candle sales.
7:00 pm – The stroll begins which is led by 2 horse drawn carriages.
People will follow behind the carriages and can stop along the route to listen to 15 different choirs & musicians.
PARKING & COMPLIMENTARY SHUTTLE
Parking available at Fort George which is easily accessible from the Niagara Parkway at 51 Queens Parade. There will be a complimentary shuttle running from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm to the Courthouse. Or, it’s just a 6 min walk to the Court House from there for the start of the Stroll. You can also purchase your candles there at The Visitors Centre found in the centre of the parking lot. Food donations for Newark Neighbours can also be taken there.
Candle Stalls will be set up the evening of the stroll starting at 5:00 pm. You can also leave your food donations for Newark Neighbours at the Candle Stalls.
The Stalls will be located out front of the following stores on Queen St :
Bella Grace (corner of Queen St and King St)
Ten Thousand Villages (corner of Queen St and Regent St)
Versions (corner of Queen St and Regent St)
The Stagecoach Restaurant (corner of Queen St and Regent St)
Wine Country Vitners
Candles are 1 for $3.00 or 2 for $5.00. Proceeds from candle sales are in support of a local family/non-profit organization in need.
Please bring a non-perishable food item in support of Newark Neighbours.
