Boo at the Zoo

Saturday October 7th –  Monday October 9th, 10:00am – 4:00pm, daily

A family friendly Halloween event! Join us for our 5th annual Boo at the Zoo. TRICK or TREAT your way around the zoo brought to you by local businesses. This is a safe and unique Halloween party you do not want to miss!

Pumpkinville at Happy Rolph’s

Saturday October 14, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Happy Rolph’s Animal Farm, 650 Read Rd., St. Catharines

A fun filled family fall festival with plenty of FREE games, activities and entertainment including: pumpkin carving, scarecrow building, bouncers, hay dive, crafts, facepainting and so much more!

*Some activities have nominal charge and are indicated below

  • Free pumpkin to the first 500 families
  • Free shuttle bus from Grantham Lions parking lot to and from event
  • Accessible parking available at Happy Rolph’s parking lot

Join us for a pumpkin carving contest! Bring your creative ideas and carve out a cool jack-o-lantern. Use your free family pumkin that the first 500 families receive at the gate or for guaranteed entry please bring your own pumpkin. Carving supplies will be provided. Your pumpkin creation will be judged at 1p.m.

Join us in a fun fall activity and build a scarecrow! 10 Scarecrow building stations will be available and scarecrows will be disassembled shortly after completion. Supplies will be provided such as stakes, straw, twine and clothing options. But feel free to bring any additonal clothing items if you wish. Take your own photo with your scarecrow once complete.

Join in the fall fun at the Hay Dive activity. Search through the giant pile of “hay” and find a coloured stick! Exchange the coloured sticks for a small treat with the volunteers at the activity. Please note: we use straw for this activity for allergenic purposes.

Come have a bounce, slide or climb on the inflatable bouncers!

Face Painting: Stop by and have a fun fall or Halloween design painted on your face. Please note there is a limit to 2 small designs per person. We do not paint an entire face or paint near eyes, nose or mouth areas.

Temporary Tattoos: Stop by for a temporary tatoo! Lots of fun designs to choose from including Halloween scars and more!

Stilt Walkers: Say Hello to our Scarecrow and Fall Princess stilt walkers while you are here!

Join us for a pony ride! A nominal charge of $5.00 for this activity. Atkins Pony Rides will be on site offering rides for children. Photos of your child on their pony ride will also be offered for sale on site.

Join us in the big red barn for your fall family photo! A nominal charge of $5.00 per photo for this activity. Our professional photographer will be on site with a beautiful set on bales of  straw with pumpkins and flowers to create a picture perfect backdrop for a family photo. A professionally edited digital photo will be emailed directly to participants approx 1 week after the event.

Halloween Ghost Tours at Fort George

Some believe that Halloween is the time of year when supernatural forces are most powerful, and the barrier between this world and the next is at its weakest. For others, it’s just the perfect time of year for a good ghost story.  Join us for an exploration of the scariest aspects of haunted Fort George. This 2-hour walking tour includes stories too frightening to be told on the summer tours, and opens a building (the Officers’ Quarters) usually off limits to the Ghost Tour.

All tickets: $20.00

Late October Ghost Walks – St. Catharines

MULTIPLE DATES IN LATE OCTOBER 2017 – ALL GHOST WALKS BEGIN AT 7:00PM  

Take a spooky stroll on the downtown St. Catharines ghost walks!

Did you know that lurking spirits cause the shivers one experiences when hearing ghost stories? Don’t believe it? Reserve your spot on one of our Downtown St. Catharines Ghost Walks and explore the history and haunted tales of Downtown St. Catharines. These guided tours will delve into the haunted tales of the past and the present day while also sharing historical commentary about the unique buildings and happenings in Downtown St. Catharines. All ghost walks this season are Tour A which takes in the spooky sights and stories along Church Street, Ontario Street and Yates Street. Walks are 60 to 75 minutes in length and we walk at an easy comfortable pace. Walks proceed rain or shine; please dress for the weather. All Ghost Walks depart from the King Street doors of Market Square (91 King Street). Ticketholders, please arrive 10 minutes prior to the Ghost Walk to allow for check-in time.

Drummond Hill Cemetery Tours

Drummond Hill Cemetery, 6110 Lundy’s Lane, Niagara Falls

Drummond Hill Cemetery is a nationally recognized heritage site. It is most famously known as the battle grounds of the “Battle of Lundy’s Lane”, as well as the burial site of Laura Secord. Every weekend during the month of October the Lundy’s Lane Museum conducts tours of Drummond Hill Cemetery. Led by a costumed guide, the human drama unfolds as you wander the grounds and happen upon theatrical performances that provide a glimpse into the lives of some of the famous and not so famous people from the history of the city. The vignettes are based on real people who are buried in the cemetery. Some content may not be suitable for younger audiences.

Warner Ranch and Pumpkin Farm Haunted Hayrides

Last three weekends in October

Warner Ranch and Pumpkin Farm, 7705 Schisler Rd, Welland

In October join us as we bring our haunted forest back from the dead. The ride will have you on the edge of your seat as you journey through 50 acres of haunted forest with terrifying displays and live actors that will be sure to ‘jolt’ you off your seat.

During the Halloween season enjoy the fright and delight of our Haunted Hayride in the last 3 week-ends of October.

First ride goes out at 7:00 pm with the last ride departing at 10:45 pm.
Haunted hayride lasts approximately 30 minutes and takes you through 50 acres of haunted forest.
Haunted hay rides are covered and run rain or moonshine.
Infants are not allowed on the hayride.
LIVE actors line the route. You may be touched during the hay ride.
Reservations not required.

Could be Frightening!!! Not recommended for young children. Parents are strongly cautioned. The haunted hayrides are interactive and something may touch you, if this offends you – DO NOT ENTER

Admission: Adults – $15.00 Children 12 and under – $10.00.
