If you haven't decided what you'd like to do for Mother's Day this year, here is a list of ideas of how you could spend your special weekend.
Stroll through the Spring Handmade Market at 13th Street Winery and treat yourself to a Mother’s Day gift from one (or several) of the local artisans. Enjoy yummy food and wine while browsing the handmade local wares.
Celebrate with your family at one of the family activities happening at the Early Years Centre or libraries around the region. The St. Catharines YMCA Early Years Centre has a Mother’s Day Social all day Saturday. The Welland Public Library (Main branch) is celebrating moms with a craft, story, and hot chocolate between 10:30 and 11:30am on Saturday. The Thorold Public Library has a Mother’s Day tea on Saturday between 2-3pm.
Enjoy a lovely afternoon tour and traditional tea featuring home-baked goods at the historic McFarland House and its conservatory tea room on Sunday. Visit the McFarland House website for more details.
Celebrate Mother’s Day at one of the many restaurants in the Niagara region offering a special Mother’s Day brunch menu. Whether you go with your own mother or with your whole family, it’s always nice to sit down to a special lunch and not have to cook or clean up afterwards.
Spend the day outside with your family relaxing and enjoying this beautiful spring weather we’ve been lucky to have. This Mother's Day, I will be sitting with my feet up, hanging out with my own mom, and watching my kids play in the backyard all day.
