About Beyond Montessori School:
Beyond Montessori School is a community-oriented school; committed to nurturing and educating the whole child. The Toddler to Early Elementary Montessori education features an environmentally based well-rounded curriculum that allows for each child to have a unique learning experience. In essence, Beyond Montessori School believes in cultivating a life-long love of learning in children, and acknowledges that for each child the process is different.
However, BSM is not a typical Montessori school. While the faculty are Accredited Montessori Teachers and embrace the Montessori Method of teaching, they also incorporate holistic practices that foster the child’s entire well-being. They believe a large part of this is identity through creative expression. The curriculum and daily activities are heavily based on environmental and sustainability practices that encourage students to take a hands-on role in caring for the environment and minimizing negative impact.
Beyond Montessori School’s core values:
- Safety and security in a nurturing school environment.
- Honesty and integrity; an ethical framework for development.
- Peace, respect, and cooperation in both school and local community.
- Awareness and respect for the environment.
- Leadership and creativity within our school community.
- Compassion, kindness, patience, and joyfulness.
- Striving for excellence.
BMS is answering the call for an affordable, community-based Montessori school that offers before and after school care, full or part-time programs, parental involvement, and a creative approach to education.
BMS is pleased to offer families who are eligible to receive Niagara Regional Subsidy the opportunity to make application for enrollment at BMS for their child from the ages of Toddler to Senior Kindergarten. Some stipulations apply. BMS also offers eligible families with elementary age children the opportunity to apply for bursary assistance.

About Roots of Montessori:
Roots of Montessori is a grassroots charitable organization working in partnership with Beyond Montessori School, to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders to achieving their full potential through exceptional, innovative education and environmental stewardship.
Root of Montessori's mandate is to offer bursaries for deserving youth requiring tuition based financial assistance in their elementary and junior years. A further objective is to support diverse and unique educational programs for students and the Niagara community.
Financial barriers prevent children from attending an independent Montessori school or program that would be the best fit for their educational needs. Many families receive financial assistance through Niagara Regions’ subsidy program for their child’s toddler through kindergarten years. Roots of Montessori will help facilitate the bursary program for children to continue at Beyond Montessori School in addition to newly enrolled children throughout their elementary and junior years. Students and the community will also benefit from specialized education programs for youth in the Niagara Region.
Every child deserves the right to receive the highest level of education to help them achieve their full potential. Montessori education is proven to increase retention of information in addition to strengthening self-confidence and leadership skills. Roots of Montessori's goal is to raise a minimum of $100,000 per year for student bursaries to attend Beyond Montessori School.
Financial donations to Roots of Montessori also support specialized educational programs such as the launch of an Erdkinder Program (Earth School for adolescents Grade 7 / 8), along with the creation of a French Bilingual Montessori Elementary Program. Roots of Montessori also plans to establish specialized programs such as STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics), outward-bound style expeditions, woodworking, technology education and outdoor skills programs for youth.
The Family Wellness Festival will take place on December 3rd between 10:30am-3:30pm at the Beyond Montessori School, 83 Church Street. There will be 30+ Vendor tables, a bouncy castle, a kids zone with classes and activities, a cafe, a bake sale, a silent auction and lots more!
