Cold and flu season is upon us, and with that, comes germs – lots of them. Kids bring home germs from everywhere and it may be hard to prevent your kids from getting a cold or the flu this winter, but it’s not impossible. Tips to Prevent the Spread of Germs

Here are 10 things you can do as a family to prevent the spread of germs in your house and keep your kids from getting the much-dreaded fall and winter illnesses.

• Keep your sneezes and coughs to yourself (use a tissue or your elbow instead of your hand).
• Wash your hands often, especially before eating and after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.
• Keep your hands away from your eyes, mouth, and nose.
• Eat a healthy diet.
• Get a good night’s sleep.

• Clean toys and objects your family touches.
• Use hand sanitizer when soap isn’t available.
