    Animal Farms and Petting Zoos around Niagara

    There are many places you can get close to animals in Niagara. Choose among farms, zoos, or animal sanctuaries. Here is a list of petting zoos, farms, and other places to see animals in Niagara.

    Niagara

    Barnyard Animal Tours

    Hold baby chicks, bunnies, and kittens. Pet the horse, ponies, llamas, lambs, bunnies, chicks, etc. The farm has nearly 500 animals!

    Barnyard Tours is operated by a couple in NOTL daily by appointment or for walk-up groups. Admission is $6 for children and $10 for adults.

    Howells Farm

    Enjoy Farm life and visit goats, sheep, peacocks, chickens, bunnies and a donkey. There are other attractions at the farm as well and there is an admission cost.

    Grey's Haven Farm Sanctuary

    Located in Port Colborne, the farm is a safe haven for rescued farm animals as well as a home-between-homes for cats and other animals. Grey’s Haven Farm Sanctuary holds events where visitors are welcome to take tours and connect with the animals while learning about their stories.

    The farm operates by donation and appointment.

    Warners Ranch and Pumpkin Farm

    Offers a petting zoo, $2 per person, pony rides are available for $4 a ride, unicorn rides are available for $6, and Belgian horse-drawn hay rides run on the week-ends from approximately 10 am until 4 pm.

    Honsberger Estate Winery

    The winery has an alpaca, some sheep, horses, goats, etc. on their grounds.

    J K Ranch Travelling Farm

    This travelling farm brings farm animals to birthday parties and events. All animals are miniature in size and are very friendly. They also offer miniature horse drawn wagon rides, a unicorn for specialty parties and have a faithful donkey available for Christmas an Easter engagements at places of worship.

    Farm animals, including donkeys, goats, horses, cows, and rabbits are available for viewing between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

    Triple C Farm

    Even though it's a little further away in Ancaster, at Triple C Farm, you can go right into the paddock with all the animals and cuddle baby goats while watching them have fun playing with one another. All of the animals are super friendly and love interacting with people. There is a  great assortment of animals for you to visit, including horses, goats,and donkeys. $5 per person.

    Bird Kingdom

    Bird Kingdom is the World’s Largest Free-Flying Indoor Aviary. Discover hundreds of tropical birds as you explore the pathways throughout the multi-level rainforest. Open daily from 9:30AM-5:00PM  Adult admission is $18.95+HST, and child admission is $14.95+HST.

    Butterfly Conservatory

    Located on the grounds of the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens, visitors to the Butterfly Conservatory will see beautiful, lush plants, trickling waterfalls and thousands of vibrantly coloured butterflies. There are over 2,000 butterflies, made up of 45 different species. Adult admission is $16.50, and child admission is $10.75. Children 5 and under are free.

    Safari Niagara

    Safari Niagara is a 150-acre, privately-owned and operated nature park, home to more than 1000 native and exotic mammals, reptiles and birds.  Children (0-2): FREE, Children (3-12): $29.95 +HST, Adult (13-64): $34.95 +HST.
