No more "I’m bored" or winter blues! Here are things to do during winter break in Niagara. These ideas will help you get out of the house and have fun!

St. Catharines Musuem:

Stop by the St. Catharines Museum over the winter break and join us for tons of special activities! Take a break from the cold and dark of winter to enjoy a variety of fun and interactive programs that are suitable for all ages.

All programs are drop-in, including our fan-favourite Museum Play Date and Build-A-Boat Challenge. Search for the hidden treats in our Merritt’s Mystery treasure hunt or express your creative side at one of our crafter’s corners.

Don't forgot to bring your winter clothing donation to our Mitten Tree in support of Community Care of St. Catharines. Thorold, and Out of the Cold!

Crafty Canal Creations: Cultural Christmas | 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
The holidays are a wonderful time to be with family and friends making long-lasting memories. What traditions do you celebrate during the holidays? The City of St. Catharines is made of many different cultures who have helped shape our community. Come add to our ‘Cultural Christmas Tree’ and share the holiday traditions you celebrate with our community.
Character Cards Art Project | 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The history of our community is made up of many famous faces who helped make our community what it is today. Do you know who these historical people are and what they did? Now is your chance to explore our Museum galleries and inspire, create, and connect. We are calling all writers and artists to get creative and imagine how these famous faces lived.
Crafty Canal Creations: Painting the Past | 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Participants explore the history of the Museum with paint.
Me on the Map | 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Using an oversized map, children will explore how the St. Catharines community has changed and evolved over the past 200 years. Learn about the routes of the canal and witness the growth of our city as you piece together our giant puzzle.

One of the best parts of the holidays is playing with new toys! Children of all ages can bring their favourite toy (old or new) to the St. Catharines Museum and play in our gallery! Do you have what it takes to build a sturdy boat? It’s time to put your engineering skills to the test! Build your most magnificent boat out of our Museum Legos. Boats must be able to float and hold cargo. Do you accept the challenge?
